Can there be beauty in abandonment?

It is well known that the term "abandonment" carries with it the undertones of negativity, mistreatment, and abuse. Especially in a therapeutic setting, abandonment is a struggle that warrants much personal work and emotional expression.

For this moment, however, I challenge you to consider such a negative association in a new way. Try to open your mind to the possibility that there are always two sides (at least!) to every story, as well as to every association. I would like to share with you today an inspiring look at some truly breathtaking, meaningful, and beautiful abandoned places. Consider if these places were living, breathing entities...What would their abandonment mean to them, I wonder.
